her story:

Sarah Johnson shared her favorite thing about attending Alabama Christian Academy “is the relationships I have made there and the teachers’ drive to help us succeed academically.” Something most people don’t know about Sarah is that she is a dual citizen who spent the first 8 years of her life as a Swede, language and all. At ACA, Sarah is involved in varsity basketball, soccer, and track and field, as well as the Concert Chorus and Chamber Choir. She would advise freshmen to, “know what they believe and be prepared to give a defense of their faith and other issues they know are true.”

what’s next:

Sarah wants to be a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP). She shared, “I had to have speech therapy when I was little. I’ve always hoped for my career to have to do with helping children. Communication is very important for kids to develop relationships and relate to other people.”

PG (parental guidance) rating:

When asked what makes her proud of her family, Sarah answered, “I love that my family is committed to one another. The older siblings dedicate time and energy to the extracurriculars and relational development of the younger kids. The way my mom thinks of other people before herself challenges me to live a life of service. My dad’s drive to strengthen and encourage the faith of his children reminds me to live my life in a way that leads others to the Lord.”

parent’s perspective:

Her parents expressed, “What I admire most about Sarah is the strong faith in God she has possessed all of her life. Growing up as one of twelve children and born in the middle of the pack, one could assume Sarah could have easily been lost in the crowd, but her sweet approach to family members and efforts to make family gatherings special is a unique gift among our children.”

parent-to-parent:

Linda and Gary Johnson had this advice for other parents, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. All aspects of the good life hinge on those two laws.”
