his story: JT shared “My favorite thing about attending ACA is the Christian environment where I have the freedom to talk about God. I also love the family atmosphere where the students, teachers, and staff truly love each other and make serving others a top priority.” At ACA, JT plays Varsity Baseball and Varsity Basketball, is a member of Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Landmark Youth Worship Band. JT advises other teens to “surround yourself with friends that will have a positive influence on you.”
what’s next: JT shared, “I am planning on studying surveying and geomatic sciences to become a land surveyor. I have always enjoyed being in nature and hearing about this program at Troy University sparked my interest in this field.”
PG (parental guidance) rating: JT’s parents have inspired him most because they have sacrificed so much to bless him with a great education and have always put Christian values first. He is proud of how his family is willing to serve others and have people in their home to make connections and strengthen relationships.
parents’ perspective: JT’s parents, Dale and Cathy shared they admire JT because of his genuine love for others. “He is quiet but leads well. He is a friend to all and is admired by his peers and other adults. He is confident but displays humility. But most of all, he is strong in his faith and in his desire to demonstrate Christian values.”
parent-to-parent: Dale and Cathy had this advice for other parents, “We would advise parents to be involved and always be your child’s number one cheerleader. Provide an environment where mistakes are OK and where wins/successes AND losses/failures are celebrated and are pathways for growth.”
