his story: Ethan’s sport of choice is shooting— he’s a member of the Elmore County 4-H Shotgun Club, as well as the Archery Club. He was selected as a State Shooting Sports Ambassador for 4-H and received a blue ribbon for winning first place Senior Showman at the Elmore County 4-H Chick Chain Show and Auction. When he’s not honing his shooting skills, Ethan can be found at his church, Mountain View Baptist. He’s active in the youth group and even leads Wednesday night Bible study occasionally. In addition, he has served as a coach for the Mountain View Baptist 3rd and 4th grade Upward Soccer Team for the past two seasons and intends to continue for more. He shared, “I want to be remembered as a Godly person who valued others above himself, and who cared more about being kind than getting ahead. I wish to be remembered more for my actions toward others and my devotion to God than for my accomplishments in my schooling and career.”
what’s next: “I want to have a full-time engineering job, with a small farm operation as a side business.”
PG (parental guidance) rating: “The best advice I have ever received was not given verbally, but instead lived out as an example by my parents. They have taught me to love God, love family, work hard, and always do my best.
parents’ perspective: Kim shared, “We have always admired Ethan’s determination to excel at whatever he is doing, and his conviction to do so in an honorable manner.”
parent-to-parent: Trey had this advice for other parents: “Always encourage an attitude of excellence in all your student does and be aware of their natural aptitudes. While we all have to complete routine less-than-pleasant tasks, your student will be happier and more successful while pursuing those things they deeply enjoy.“
