It's that time of year again- Spring Break is right around the corner! A chance to relax, have fun with friends, and take a breather from mountains of schoolwork. Sometimes, we can get so focused on having fun that we forget to stay safe, though. Here are a few tips to make sure your Spring Break goes smoothly and safely:
- Road Rules. Road trips can be a great way to get away with your friends! If you're planning a road trip this Spring Break, make sure you have a plan to rotate drivers. This will prevent drivers from falling asleep at the wheel and gives everyone a chance to relax. After you arrive at your destination, make sure not to leave any valuables in plain view to those outside of the car. Another thing to keep in mind: Do not get in the car with a driver who seems intoxicated. This is never a good idea!
- Sun Suggestions. The beach is one of the most popular Spring Break destinations! Anyone spending time outdoors should remember to apply and reapply sunscreen periodically. In addition, it's important to drink lots of water to prevent dehydration, especially if you're being active or if it's extremely hot outside.
- Adventure Advice. Spring Break is a great time to try out some new activities with your friends. Hiking, biking, skydiving...you name it! Whenever trying something new, make sure you have the proper equipment and have a thorough understanding of how to do the activity. This will prevent injury and accidents.
