For those of you who were part of a sorority during your college years, I think you will agree with me when I say that some of my funnest times in college were with my sorority sisters.
Going through recruitment and joining my organization was one of the best decisions I made in college because it opened up so many doors for me and allowed me to meet so many wonderful people whom I still keep in touch with even though my college days are over.
For seniors who are gearing up to make the big tradition from high school to college and are planning on going through sorority recruitment, I urge you to consider coming to Potential’s sorority workshop to learn more about the recruitment process and what to expect once you join a sorority.
Listed below are my top three reasons as to why all junior and senior girls (and parents!) should make plans to attend this workshop on June 17 at Auburn University Montgomery:
⁃ Lights, camera, fashion:
One of the main things all of us girls here at Potential Magazine are most excited about it the “what to wear” fashion show hosted by WSFA 12 News anchor, Melissa Johnson with clothes from the top boutiques and malls in Montgomery and Auburn including: Hue Studio, Splurge Montgomery, Wrapsody and Eastdale Mall. We will be showing off looks from each day of recruitment to show you exactly what to wear and how to stand out from the crowd! Click here to view our fashion show preview.
⁃ Hear from experts:
For those of you who do not have any Greek relatives and have no idea what this whole sorority thing is all about, this is the perfect workshop for you! Even if everyone in your family has been Greek, it will still be an awesome learning experience to hear all about recruitment week, resumes, talking tips, social media and more! There is always something new to learn, and with several Panhellenic representatives from some of the top universities in the state, you can rest assured that you will leave feeling more prepared and ready to take on recruitment week!
⁃ Meet other girls going through recruitment:
Trust me, the week of sorority recruitment was much more stressful than I ever could have thought. One of the main things that got me through the week was the support I found from girls who were also going through recruitment. To everyone else, it may seem silly to get worked up or stressed out about visiting the different sororities and talking to hundreds of girls a day about your high school activities, GPA and hobbies, but it can actually be tough to handle. At our workshop, there will be tons of girls who are going through the same thing as you, and there will also be girls there who have been there and done that. This workshop will be a great opportunity for you to network with Panhellenic representatives and meet new girls going to your future school.
We hope to see you at the sorority workshop in June! It will offer great information, awesome door prizes and a fun experience! For more information on how to register, please visit us online at www.potentialmagazine.com or on our Facebook page (@Potential Magazine)!
