The Math portion of the ACT covers Pre-Algebra, Elementary Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Plane Geometry, and Trigonometry.
Duration: 60-question, 60-minute test
Strategy #1: On any portion of the ACT, if you’re unsure of the answer, mark it, move on, and come back to it later. If there’s extra time, take a guess at unanswered questions.
Strategy #2: If you can, try and predict the correct answers before looking at the choices. It still won’t hurt to double check, but go with your instinct. It’s probably right.
Strategy #3: The questions have been known to get progressively harder, so try to save the most time to work on the last 10-15.
Strategy #4: Give yourself a shot at answering all the questions.
Strategy #5: Use a familiar basic calculator.
